THE PHOTOGENIC METHOD

Learn how to create authentic, flattering portraits of anyone

without complicated gear

Make anywhere look like a photoshoot.

You don't need a studio, complicated lighting setups or a bag full of lenses to create beautiful portraits.

You need to know what to look for.

The Photogenic Method teaches you the five things I look for every time I photograph someone:

Intention. Light. Distance. Timing. Perspective.

So instead of wondering what equipment you're missing, you'll learn how to create more with the camera you already have.

you might recognize this

You see someone you want to photograph. They look incredible in front of you.

You raise your camera...

And somehow, it doesn't translate.

The light feels wrong. They suddenly seem stiff. The location looks ordinary. You take twenty photographs and maybe one is IT, but you're not quite sure why.

So you start wondering what you're missing.

A better camera. A different lens. More lighting. A better location.

But often, what you're missing isn't another piece of equipment.

It's knowing what to look for.

Where is the beautiful light? Where should you stand? What do you see in this person? And when is the moment?

I LEARNED PHOTOGRAPHY BACKWARDS

I got my first photography job before I even owned a camera.

Soon after, I was photographing famous musicians for magazines, often with five or ten minutes to create a portrait in whatever location I was given. A café. A street. A hotel. Backstage.

There was no perfect studio waiting for me. No elaborate lighting setup or collection of lenses. And my very affordable start-up camera certainly wasn't doing the work for me.

I had to learn through experimenting- how to walk into an ordinary place and make it look extraordinary. And looking back, I'm incredibly grateful I did.

Because I learned to see opportunities everywhere and how to create memorable photographs with very little gear.

That way of seeing became the foundation of everything I do.

And that's what I want to teach you.

What you’ll learn

Inside the course, you’ll learn how to work with THE FIVE DECISIONS BEHIND A GREAT PORTRAIT

  • How your INTENTION behind the image shapes how the subject behaves

  • How LIGHTING changes the structure of the face

  • How DISTANCE and lens choice affect proportions

  • How TIMING shapes expression and how to guide subtle shifts in body and face

  • How PERSPECTIVE influence how someone is perceived

Small decisions can completely transform a photograph, without complicated gear or the perfect location.

Once you know what to look for, you start seeing possibilities everywhere.

A practical, self-paced portrait photography workshop

In The Photogenic Method, I won't just explain these ideas. You'll watch me use them.

I'll take you behind the camera to show you how I find light, work with ordinary locations, choose where to stand, create natural movement, and recognize the moment worth capturing.

Then you'll practice each part of the method yourself, using your own camera, one person, and the gear you already have.

YOU’ll GET:

6 video lessons
Real portrait demonstrations
Guided photography practices
The Photogenic Method workbook
Final portrait challenge
Bonus behind-the-photograph breakdowns

  • You photograph friends, family or models, but somehow the photos don't come out as flattering as you would like them to.

  • You're tired of lugging around tons of gear and want to learn how to create striking, professional-looking portraits with just your camera, one lens and the existing light.

  • You want an in-depth course on exposure, camera settings, editing or retouching.

  • You're looking for complex studio-lighting setups or gear-heavy techniques.

The Photogenic Method is about getting out of your head, trusting your eye, and learning how to create striking portraits with the camera you already have.
