About

Johanna Siring is a Norwegian portrait photographer, artist, educator, and storyteller working across fashion, music, documentary, art, and editorial photography.

Her work began with a simple belief: if we truly see people, something changes.

Deeply rooted in human connection and emotion, Johanna’s photography is known for its intimate and honest portrayal of her subjects — creating images that feel human rather than performative. Over the past 17 years, her work has taken her from photographing strangers on the streets of New York to collaborating with international brands and publications including Gucci, Prada, YSL Beauty, Cartier, Samsung, H&M, Lancôme, L’Oréal, Universal Music, The North Face, i-D, Vice, Vogue, and Elle.

Johanna gained international recognition through her portrait series Kiss of a Stranger, in which she photographed strangers before and after kissing them. After being published by Vice and i-D, the project became a global viral sensation, resonating widely for its exploration of intimacy, vulnerability, and human connection. She is also known for her ongoing project Everybody Is Somebody, documenting emotional encounters with strangers around the world.

Alongside her commercial and artistic work, Johanna teaches photography workshops and has guest lectured at universities in both New York and Oslo. Today, her work continues to expand into creative education, speaking, exhibitions, digital products, and long-form storytelling projects centered around photography and emotional connection.

Johanna is based in Norway and available for commissions and collaborations worldwide.
